Falasarna is the western village of Crete, 18 Km away from Kisamos ( seat of the municipality ) and 55 Km away from Chania.
The village is located at the virgin West Coast, which is ideal for vacations of relaxation and revival.
The large natural bay with the extensive sandy beaches and the mountainows mass full of olives, create a wonderful environment.
The ruins of ancient "Falassarna", which was the port of ancient "Polyrinia", are 300 meters away from the sea, around the agricultural extents.
The safely location of the port, the fortified towers, the archeological discoveries, demonstate that the ancient town was an important marine and commercial center.
After the first archeological discoveries, there are preserved:
- The Hellenistic port with the fortified towers.
- The ancient quarry.
- The sculpted throne.
- Cube-shape graves.
The area is suitable for walking, excursions to traditional villages, near-by beaches, archeological sites, at Chania, at canyons etc.
